Have you ever wanted to rough it in Texas but didn’t want to fully commit to kicking it old school and pitching a tent in the back country? Allow me to introduce you to Austin Glamping*!

For the select few that may not know, glamping is “glamorous camping” which sounds like an oxymoron but I assure you, it’s a real thing and Austin Glamping has mastered this concept!
Austin Glamping has a tiny village comprised of 2 vintage campers and a yurt located in the North Loop area in Austin, Texas. & This past weekend I had the pleasure of staying at the Yurt in the village (yes, you read that right, a YURT in Austin). Le'me tell ya, it was just as amazing as it sounds.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by both Chris and Alice (The Airbnb hosts that are bro and sis) and they are amazing! Both were genuinely friendly and also carried great conversation, which is hard to come by these days. And the icing on the cake - they were working on their next project while I was there so I got a sneak peek of what's coming to the village soon! Chris escorted me to the Yurt and showed me around. Y'all, the entire time I was in awe. I mean, yes, I looked at every single picture of this place online before I went but trust me when I say it’s 10 times better in person. This place is literally what dreams are made of, natural colors with a hint of modern and a bright, welcoming layout and design. It was so cozy I didn’t want to leave - look at how cozy this set up is!! Snagging all the heart eyes
Believe it or not, Chris and Alice made each camper and yurt themselves (crazy, right!?) and they truly thought of everything in the process. Ensuring that when you visit, not only will you feel welcomed and safe but you will also have everything you need and want in one spot.
Did I mention that the yurt has it’s own projector and iPad so you can watch your favorite movies and shows!? Like I said, this place is what dreams are made of.

You can’t have a true glamping experience without a little bit of “roughing it” in a convenient way so if you need to use the loo or wash up, they have both a shower and a toilet located in the great outdoors of the village (it’s still in privacy, don’t fret). And to add to the “glamorous” part of glamping, the shower is heated and the toilet actually flushes!
To add to the camping vibe, there’s a community fire pit where you can enjoy toasting mallows, heating up some hot dogs, relax or even meet some new friends! There’s also a provided grill so feel free to buy some patties and buns and get your grill master on!
I can truly and honestly say that my stay at Austin Glamping exceeded my expectations and I fully plan on returning with the boo soon. If you’re ever heading to Austin and want to stay somewhere fun, reasonably priced and in a great location, then this Yurt is a MUST.
Things to note:
Remember, this is GLAMPING! Which means you still have some attributes of camping (i.e. bugs, no water flushing toilet, … but that’s what makes this place unique!)
Firewood is provided so you can take your s'more game to an “A” around the campfire
There is an A/C unit and fan within the yurt which helps to keep the yurt cool but it’s wise to bring shorts and a breathable tee to sleep in. Note: the yurt is not insulated.
Bug spray is available for use though it may not hurt to pack your own
